Allah Almighty
says: eat and drink but be not prodigal.
Lo! He loves not the prodigal (7:31)

Fill not your stomach up to your throat, as you are not pot,
Drink not too much water, as you are not sand.

Although Allah
Almighty said, "eat and drink"

Nevertheless, He has not said this that you should stuff your stomach up to your throat.
Ilm is for advising, preaching and warning. It is for abiding by the principle of Amar Bil Ma'roof (enjoining right conduct) (3:110), liking the truth and for always keeping a check on the Nafs. And Ilm is not for this that one should make it means of earning and livelihood or that one may use it to get stipends from Kings.
Allah Almighty says: there is not a beast in earth but
the sustenance thereof depends on Allah

Your son is Slave of Allah Almighty; you need not to worry for him,
Who are you that may sustain him better than Allah Almighty?
So there are many a Bey-Amal
Ulema, who are the parables of these words of Allah
Almighty
: enjoins you righteousness on
mankind while you yourself forget (to practice it)?
