The "Remembrance and commemoration" or the act of methodically remembering the Holy Names by Seeker of Allah usually through rhythmic manner as a spiritual exercise. Plural of Zikr is Azkaar. At few places Zikr may also mean reminder or advice or fame and repute. The Seeker of Allah who does Zikr is called Zaakir. Plural is Zaakireen. Hadis: Zikr of Allah Almighty is the evidence of Eimaan and is a displeasure against Nifaaq and is like a fortress against Satan and is the likeness of an asylum against the Fire of Hell (P48 Noor ul Huda Khurd).
