Considering [this Matchless Essence] inverse reflection (Aks Ma'koos) and thinking [about His Person], the Waham, Waswasa, and the [sensual] Khatraat all are the Darkness which are the cause of Decadence (and downfall) and are away of Tauheed.
[First] every Ilm [of the Deen] and then the Ilm [of Tasawvuf] should be learnt in every session of learning. After this, foot should be set in Faqar so that Jamiyat be achieved as the Ilm is friendly companion of the soul. That ascetic (worshipper) Faqeer, who lacks Ilm is Satan and moreover is vexed with ignorance. That person, who keeps the Inwardly Ilm of Marifat, that very [Ilm] is his ultimate Waseela. What (then) such a person be in want of reading or writing?
O dear! the Master of wisdom, intellectuality, and with deference! It should be noted that the total intuition (and insight) of the Qurb of Lord, the Marifat of God is achieved through Hazoori. That Ilm, which is devoid of Marifat is a cause of remoteness from Allah Almighty. You should not be prideful [over such Ilm]. You know that the Satan is Aalim in Ilm but he lacks the Ilm of Marifat and Ilm of Muhabbat. Up to what level did the Ilm of Muhabbat take the dog of the Ashaab-e-Kahf and it added it [in the line] of the human beings and it counted amongst the Ashaab-e-Kahf! On the other hand, that Ilm of Satan, that lacked Marifat, drove him far away of the Hazoori. Which of these two kinds of Ilm do you like?
You became Aalim, the Faazil but remained devoid of Marifat,
You became Aalim like the Khar of Esa Alaihis-Salaam through your Ilm, which lacked Marifat.
Allah Almighty says: is as the likeness of the ass carrying books (62:5)
What is meant is that that person should set step in Faqar Marifat, who has brought the Ghanayat of gold-and-silver the Kimiya of Sang-e-Paaris into his Tasarruf so that in his gaze [even] the king should become a poor disable beggar. This is what is called the Faqar-e-Ikhtiyari. Without attaining the Ghanayat, choosing Faqar [would be Faqar-e-Iztarari].
(Saying of the Holy Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam)
I seek refuge in Allah against the Faqar-e-Mukibb, that falls down straight.
